BID Group CEO Brian Fehr has been named to the B.C. Jobs and Investment Board.
He was among 15 people from industry, policy and trade backgrounds, appointed to the board on Friday by B.C. Jobs and Tourism Minister Pat Bell.
They will provide advice and direction to government on policies and programs to help attract sustainable investment and support job creation with a focus on forestry, mining, natural gas, agri-foods, technology, tourism, transportation and international education.
"Each one of these people has unique and valuable experience in business and government," Bell said in a press release. "They understand the challenges the world economy is going through, but most importantly, the tremendous opportunities that exist for the B.C. economy as we implement our jobs plan."
Fehr has more than 30 years of experience in industrial fabrication and construction through BID Group and also currently serves on the board of directors of the B.C. Safety Authority and is a past director of the B.C. Association for Crane Safety and Baldy Hughes Addiction Treatment Centre.
