There will be a federal budget consultation meeting in Prince George after all.

After learning none of the 150 stops the committee is making will be in this city, Cariboo-Prince George MP Dick Harris said Thursday he's managed to add one more date to their itinerary.

A by-appointment-only hearing will be held on Jan. 26 with invitations going out to various local political and business leaders. They've been asked to provide responses to four questions related to the federal budget which should be ready by March 31.

Asked if the general public can make submissions, Harris said the idea is to hear from community representatives.

"It's not going to be like a big public forum, it'll be inviting representation from the general public by way of their elected local and regional politicians and that's the same way we pretty much have the annual pre-budget consultations," he said.

However, members of the general public are still welcome to submit their ideas to Harris' constituency office via e-mail and letter. The e-mail is [email protected] and the mailing address is 206-575 Quebec St,, Prince George, BC V2L 1W6.
