The city will pick up the remaining tab for a local government gathering held in Prince George last year.
The Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) board of directors meeting brought more than 150 people consisting of municipal leaders, their guests, FCM staff and representatives from the North Central Local Government Association between March 6-9.
Spearheaded by FCM board member and city Coun. Garth Frizzell, the event was meant to be put on at no cost to the city.
The total bill came in at just over $22,300. However, the death of one of the sponsors left an unpaid bill for more than $6,700 to cover food, materials and GST costs.
"We have captured an economic benefit well past what Frizzell is requesting]," said Coun. Dave Wilbur.
