The first homicide in 2010, involving a 27-year-old man, occurred in Prince George early Wednesday.
Police were first called about 5 a.m. to investigate reports of shots being fired in the Millar Addition in the area of Hemlock Street, but were unable to find anything related, said Gary Godwin, RCMP media relations officer.
"At about 7:20 a.m. they received a call that a man was down in the front yard of a residence in the 1800 block of Hemlock Street and appeared not to be breathing.
"The deceased man is from Prince George and is known to police. It appears to be a fatal shooting," Godwin said.
