A male grader operator is dead after his vehicle was found in the water off the Stone Creek Forest Service Road near Highway 97 South. Police were called to the scene of the incident after 1 p.m. Monday.
Two Mounties and a member of the Pineview Volunteer Fire Department located the grader driver submerged in his cab and pulled him to shore but could not revive him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the operator is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
An investigation into the incident is underway but no foul play is suspected.
