The victim of the Dawson Creek rock concert victim has been disclosed by his family and the RCMP.

Jason Patrick Foster, 28, was named Wednesday as the one killed at a Valentine's Day event at the Encana Event Center when he was allegedly attacked by violent strangers.

"[Foster] attended a local concert where he and a friend were assaulted by three males," said North District RCMP spokeswoman Const. Lesley Smith. "The assault continued into the men's washroom where a civilian intervened and broke up the fight. Foster was found unconscious and later died from his injuries in hospital."

Foster had been living in the Fort St. John area but was originally from Manitoba.

Three male suspects, aged between 18 and 20, were arrested later that same night. They have been released from custody but, said Smith "charges are pending as the investigation continues."
