One person was killed and another sent to hospital in critical condition following a collision between a car and a pickup truck Friday morning on Highway 97 South.
Emergency personnel were called to the scene at Damms Road, about 20 kilometres south of the city, at about 7:15 a.m.
"The causal factors of the crash have not yet been determined, however the roads were covered in ice and packed snow at the time of the crash," North District RCMP said in a press release.
The stretch was closed without a detour for most of the morning as investigators collected evidence.
Names of those involved were not released.
