A fallen tree knocked out power to almost 250 residents in Prince George, Saturday morning.

Residents in the area north of Pedscalny Road and south of Beaver Forest Road -including much of the Shelly Road area -were without power after the tree fell on a line at 8:47 a.m., according to information released by B.C. Hydro.

Power was also out in the 2800 block of Koroa Road, after an outage started at 7:49 a.m. That outage effected less than five homes. B.C. Hydro had not determined a cause as of press time.

A downed tree also knocked out power in the 24500 block of East Perry Road shortly after midnight, early Saturday morning. Power was restored to the handful of residents by just after 4 a.m. Saturday morning.

Outages were reported across the region in Vanderhoof, Fort St. James and Mackenzie.
