Be extra careful if you plan on driving north of Prince George tonight (March 2).

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Highway 97 along the Pine Pass as up to 15 cm could accumulate by tomorrow morning (March 3).

The alert took effect after 4 a.m. this morning, also being slapped for the Peace River region.

Meteorologists are predicting a frontal system to move over northern B.C. with snow beginning late this afternoon, but could taper off to flurries after midnight.

The service warns of low visibility as it may be suddenly reduced due to heavy snow.

Commuters are being asked to adjust their driving habits to the weather conditions, which could become hazardous up in the mountains.

You can go to Drive BC's website for more information on road conditions.

There are currently no travel advisories in effect for Highway 97.
