A "colourful and eye-catching" exhibit imagining environmentally sustainable cities is on display at the College of New Caledonia.
The miniature models by Rolan Abraham create a concept of the future, with each designed for a specific sustainable or environmental purpose.
For example, Abraham has imagined how green technologies could influence public and private transportation, energy independent homes, water use, recycling and more.
Abraham envisions the use of solar power, electric energy and wind turbines.
"This project took a lot of time and imagination," said Abraham, who crafted the tiny wood buildings himself.
"I took inspiration from wood scraps from the Wood Innovation & Design Centre. I wanted to use material from the building to design a progressive city model."
CNC's library director said they had heard of Abraham's work from others who'd seen his earlier displays at Art Space, above Books & Company.
"It's so colourful and eye-catching, and there are some terrific handouts as well that describe sustainable development concepts," said Kathy Plett in the release.
"Sure to be a hit with our library users."
The exhibit opened in late September and will run through to Nov. 4.
