Studio Fair

Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Civic Centre, 808 Canada Games Way, the Prince George & District Community Arts Council will host its annual Studio Fair, which is a juried art fair that provides an opportunity for the community to see original and quality works of art in the marketplace. Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Day pass for adults, seniors and students is $5, children under 12 are free.

Terri Clark concert

Friday from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Canadian country musician Terri Clark is performing her Back to My Roots solo acoustic tour at Vanier Hall. Prepare for an intimate evening with Clark and her guitars on stage. Previous performances have included a Q&A session and storytelling. Tickets are at Studio 2880. Great Christmas Craft Market

Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at AiMhi's gymnasium, 950 Kerry St., Handy Circle's Resource Society is hosting their annual market including door prizes and 50/50 draws. To rent a table or more information call 250-563-1852.

Theatre Northwest International Wine Festival

Saturday at 1 p.m. enjoy sampling wines and appetizers from some of the best British Columbia wineries and local Prince George restaurants at the social event of the season. Tickets are still available for the afternoon event, evening is sold out, at Books & Co., 1685 Third Ave., for $75 each or online at theatrenorthwest.com.

Fall Fowl Supper and Silent Auction

Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. enjoy a turkey and ham dinner with all the fixings and a silent auction at Blackburn Community Centre, 2451 Blackburn Rd. S. Tickets available at Blackburn Community Association office for $15 for adults, $12 for students and seniors, kids 5 and under are free. For more information call 250-963-3292.

Trophy film screening

Monday from 7 to 10 p.m. in Artspace, above Books & Co., 1685 Third Ave. there is a screening, with discussion and Q&A to follow for the documentary Trophy. The film focuses on BC's trophy-hunting industry. This is a free event, but does come with a warning: due to the graphic nature of the film, which contains real footage of hunts, viewer discretion is advised.

The Transition to Residential Care

Tuesday from 1 to 4 p.m. at 202-575 Quebec St., the Prince George branch of the Alzheimer Society of BC hosts a session that focuses on helping family caregivers who are considering residential care options for a person with dementia. General information will be provided on how to access residential care in the community, as well as a review of some important considerations when choosing a facility. The session will also explore

the challenges families face when making decisions about residential care and review some strategies for preparing for the transition. Admission is by donation. Pre-registration is required by contacting Leanne Ranes at 250-564-7533 or emailing [email protected].

Peter Katz concert

Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at ArtSpace, above Books & Co., 1685 Third Ave., popular Canadian singer/songwriter Peter Katz will be performing. Tickets are available at Books & Co., for $16 plus tax.

 

A Photographer's Journey

Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. photographer Chris Harris will be in the Canfor Theatre, at UNBC to present his latest book, British Columbia's Cariboo Chilcotin Coast - A Photographer's Journey. The presentation will feature photographs, videos and original music. Tickets are $10 at Books & Co, 1685 Third Ave., Studio 2880, 2880-15th Ave., or at the door. Toonie Auction

Saturday, Nov. 25 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at 1145 Second Ave., Carrier Sekani Family Services will hold a toonie auction featuring many items, including gift baskets donated by local businesses. Lunch will be available for $10 including beef on a bun, caesar salad, a drink and dessert bars. All proceeds go to the family support services to purchase toys and food to make Christmas a special time for our CSFS families. For more information call 250-562-3591.
