A man who has been in custody since his arrest nine months ago must serve two years probation for forcing police to arrest him twice in the same day.

Kenneth Melvin Seymour, 24, was issued the term in Prince George provincial court last week for a series of incidents on Nov. 5, 2014 that began when police were called to an alleged domestic assault at a Corless Crescent home.

RCMP were forced to use a Taser in the process of arresting him that time. Seymour escaped when he was taken taken to hospital for treatment and this time he was apprehended with the help of a police dog. Seymour was subsequently returned to hospital for treatment of bite wounds before he was taken into custody.

Seymour, who originally comes from Fort Ware, originally faced nearly 30 charges from the incident. On Thursday, he was sentenced to a further five days in jail followed by two years probation on seven counts: being in a dwelling-house without lawful excuse, assault, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, breach of a probation order, escape from lawful custody, breach of a probation order and wilfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer.
