The City's emergency operations centre and the evacuation alerts to residents on the east and west sides of Farrell Street were cancelled Friday.
The Fraser River's depth at South Fort George stood at 8.082 metres mid-Friday afternoon and although rising slowly was predicted to peak by midday Saturday at 8.4 metres, a metre below flood level, City Hall said in a press release.
As a result, the province's River Forecast Centre ended their high streamflow advisory for the Upper Fraser River at 3 p.m. And Environment Canada is predicting minimal rainfall over the weekend.
The Fraser's dept hit a peak of 9.8 metres on July 12.
"Residents that live near flood prone areas are reminded to continue to exercise caution," City Hall added. "Cottonwood Island Park, Paddlewheel Park, and the Heritage River Trail still remain closed until further notice, and on-water activities are not advised until river conditions improve."
