Energy transition group formed in Prince George

The first public discussion takes place Tuesday, Jan. 9, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the University of Northern BC in room 5-518.

Prince George Electric Vehicle Association and individuals from UNBC have formed a new Energy Transition Group that offers free discussions about the ongoing energy transition and what it will look like in the future. The first event is on Jan. 9.

The new Energy Transition Group in Prince George is inviting the public to attend an informative discussion with expert guests about the ongoing energy transition.

The discussion takes place Tuesday, Jan. 9, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the University of Northern BC in room 5-518.

This is the first of a series.

The Energy Transition Group was formed by individuals from the university and the Prince George Electric Vehicle Association (PG EVA).

The discussion topics will include more than electric vehicles and includes developments about reducing waste, methane capture, energy efficiency, energy load levelling, new products, improved manufacturing and social responsibility.

The group intends to promote and expand discussion to reveal the intertwined and complicated issues around energy transition which are occurring.

The presentations and discussions are free for everyone who attends.

Time for questions, answers, discussion and socializing will be available following each presentation.

People are invited gather around the electric vehicles in the parking lot following the Energy Transition meeting for a session of: Ask An EV Owner – We’re Here!

The next discussions are as follows:

· February 13 from 6:30 to 8 p.m: BC Hydro will provide a 40-minute presentation on their view of what the energy transition may look like.

· March 12 from 6:30 to 8 p.m: Gott Energy will provide a 40-minute presentation on how solar power may contribute to BC’s energy transition.
