A mechanical/electrical malfunction is believed to be the cause of a late evening fire on Inverness Road.
Fifteen firefighters from three halls were dispatched to the blaze in the 1000 block of the Hart Highway neighbourhood street.
"Crews found that a fire that had started in the residence had snuffed itself out; a large cedar bush was burning beside the structure and was quickly extinguished," said assistant chief Drew Larsen of the Prince George Fire Rescue Service. "Crews entered the structure and ventilated smoke and heat from the building and extinguished hot spots as well as checked for fire extension."
There were no occupants home at the time and there were no injuries at the scene. Damage is estimated to be approximately $90,000.
