Electoral Boundaries Commission to stop in Prince George

The B.C. Electoral Boundaries Commission is seeking the public's input on on the area, boundaries and names of provincial electoral districts to be used for the next two provincial general elections.

The B.C. Electoral Boundaries Commission is seeking the public's input on on the area, boundaries and names of provincial electoral districts to be used for the next two provincial general elections.

"Now is the time to have your say and shape your province," commission chair Justice Tom Melnick said. "This democratic process is a unique opportunity for British Columbians to provide their views about how their communities are represented geographically in the legislative assembly."

The commission is holding public hearings in 29 communities throughout B.C., including a stop in Prince George on Thurs., Sept. 25 where two hearings will be held in the Great Room at the Sandman Signature Hotel and Suites, 2990 Recplace Dr., at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Pre-registration is not required.

Views, submissions and presentations may also be made through an online submission form on the commission website (www.bc-ebc.ca), by email to [email protected] or by mail to PO Box 9275 Stn Prov Govt, Victoria, B.C., V8W 9J6.

The deadline for submissions is Nov. 16 and the commission is mandated to submit a preliminary report to the legislature by May 9, 2015.
