Voters will be heading to the polls today for the fourth time in seven years to select the 41st government of Canada.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today.
In the Prince George-Peace River riding Conservative candidate Bob Zimmer will be looking to continue former MP Jay Hill's legacy. Taking on Zimmer are NDP candidate Lois Boone, Liberal Ben Levine, Green Party candidate Hilary Crowley and Pirate Party candidate Jeremy Cot.
In Cariboo-Prince George long-time incumbent Conservative MP Dick Harris hopes to keep his seat in the House of Commons. Facing off against Harris are New Democrat Jon Van Barneveld, Liberal Sangeeta Lalli, Green Heidi Redl, Rhinoceros Party candidate Jordan Turner, independent Jon Ronan and Christian Heritage candidate Henry Thiessen.
To vote, bring your ID and voter card to your designated polling station.
Government-issued ID with your name, address and photo - such as a drivers license - is the simplest option.
Alternately, voters can show two pieces of identification with your name on them and at least one must show your address - for example a health card and B.C. Hydro bill.
If you don't have ID, you can still vote if you have a registered voter who knows you personally - and lives in the same polling area -vouch for you. A registered voter is only allowed to vouch for one person.
In addition, you must swear an oath affirming you are legally entitled to vote in that riding.
Local polling stations for the Prince George-Peace River riding include the Prince George Civic Centre, Hart Pioneer Centre, Hart Community Centre, Pineview elementary school, Edgewood elementary school, Blackburn elementary school, Blackburn Community Centre and the Ness Lake Community Hall.
Local polling stations in the Cariboo-Prince George riding include Beverly elementary, Lakewood Alliance Church, Vanway elementary, Gladstone elementary, Columbus Community Centre, DP Todd secondary school, Highland Community Resource Centre, Spruceland elementary, Westwood elementary, Ron Brent elementary, Van Bien elementary and Peden Hill elementary.
