The Quesnel Community and Economic Development Corporation has hired April Cheng to be its economic development officer.
"There were 20 applicants for the position and after reviewing all candidates the QCEDC Board agreed that April was the strongest candidate for the position," said QCEDC chairman Tony Bensted in a statement issued Tuesday.
Cheng brings with her 10 years of experience in economic development, marketing and services to public agencies and private industry.
QCEDC is a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of Quesnel and is governed by a nine-person board of directors has participation from a cross section of the business community as well as the city and regional district.
