Fire crews are investigating after a motel room fire early this morning.

Prince George Fire Rescue Service Deputy Chief Cliff Warner says at roughly 4:20 a.m., crews responded to a structure fire at a 20-unit motel in the 2300 block Northwood Pulpmill Road.

A total of 19 firefighters arrived at the scene to find one unit involving fire.

The damage was limited to one unit.

Those inside were able to get out on their own and City Emergency Support Services are working with those that are currently displaced.

Warner says a fire investigation is underway.
