Angela Cunningham, hired in April as new general manager of the B.C. Northern Exhibition, formerly the PGX, resigned from her position earlier this week.
The fair is still going ahead, however, from Aug. 8 to 11 at the exhibition grounds.
"We have all really come together, the board and the existing office staff, including the summer students, and with everyone taking on increased responsibility, the show will go on," said Nancy Loreth, president of the Prince George Agricultural and Historical Association that presents the show each year. "We will open those gates for the 101st time this summer."
There is still a lot of work to be done leading up to opening day. Loreth said there are opportunities for non-profit groups to partner with the association for a stipend when they take on parking duties or such things as setup and tear down.
Volunteers are needed everywhere, as are entries into the home arts and horticulture sections of the fair. Prize books that offer details on the categories to enter are available at select locations such as Home Hardware and Art Knapp's stores and online.
Temporary maintenance workers are also needed, especially those with tickets to operate equipment such as skid steers and forklifts.
"I am proud of what we accomplish every year and this summer will be no different," Loreth said.
