Prince George Fire Rescue crews from three halls responded Tuesday afternoon to a blaze that broke out in one side of a 400-block Quinn Street duplex.
"A quick offensive attack by first arriving fire crews extinguished the fire and contained the fire to the stove and upper cabinets," acting assistant chief John Law said in a press release.
Damage was limited to about $5,000 while the home's three occupants were taken to hospital as a precaution.
Firefighters were called to the scene shortly after 2 p.m.
