Duchess Park hosting reunion

The past 50 years of hustle and bustle at Duchess Park senior secondary school in Prince George will culminate in a large reunion of people who attended school, taught or worked there.

The past 50 years of hustle and bustle at Duchess Park senior secondary school in Prince George will culminate in a large reunion of people who attended school, taught or worked there.

The reunion is planned for April 3 and 4 just prior to the demolition of the school which is making way for a new Duchess Park now under construction,

Karen Cameron, an organizing committee member, is urging all alumni to register by Feb. 14 to be eligible for the early bird prize.

Organizers say this event will be the last chance to join a half century of students and staff to celebrate the life and times at the long-standing high school with its Condor tradition of outstanding athletic and academic accomplishments and social memories.

The weekend will offer guided school tours, a friendly Condors volleyball game, a welcome reception, silent auction of Duchess park memorabilia, and time to rekindle friendships with fellow students and teachers.

Award winning musician Daniel Lapp, a 1983 graduate, will be attending the reunion and performing at the cocktail reception.

On April 4 there will be a time capsule dedication at the new school.

Final deadline to register is March 22.
