A repeat drunk driver has been sentenced to two years and one day in jail.

Alfred Kurt Homann, 57, was also issued a three-year driving prohibition under the Criminal Code and a 10 -year driving prohibition under the Motor Vehicle Act for one count each of driving with a blood-alcohol limit over .08 and driving while disqualified under the Criminal Code.

And he was sentenced to 14 days in jail for breach of probation for the Oct. 28 incident in Prince George.

In May, Homann had been sentenced to 174 days in jail and three years probation and issued a three-year driving prohibition for driving while disqualified in Prince George.

The latest jail sentence, issued Monday in Prince George provincial court, is the longest Homann has received in his several appearances before the court but not the longest driving prohibition.

In March 2011, he was issued a 20-year driving prohibition under the Motor Vehicle Act and a five-year driving prohibition under the Criminal Code for driving while disqualified and failure or refusal to provide a breath sample for a June 2009 incident in Williams Lake. On that conviction, he was also sentenced to 16 months in jail.

Since 2000, Homann had acquired five drunk driving convictions and nine convictions for driving while disqualified or while his licence was suspended.

Sentences greater than two years are served in federal facilities.
