Drunk driver gets jail time

A Prince George woman has received a stiffer-than-usual sentence for drunk driving.

A Prince George woman has received a stiffer-than-usual sentence for drunk driving.

Sherrie Lynn Parrish was sentenced Wednesday in provincial court to 120 days in jail and prohibited from driving for three years for driving with a blood-alcohol level over .08 for a Nov. 24, 2010 incident.

It was the second time Parrish had been convicted of drunk driving. In May 2009, she was fined $1,500 and her licence was pulled for one year for driving while impaired from a March 2009 incident.

Parrish has also been convicted of willfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer and assaulting a peace officer. For those two offences, from a February 2010 incident, Parrish was sentenced in September 2011 to one year probation with a suspended sentence.
