Prince George RCMP took "inattentive landlords" to task following drug busts Thursday at two rental properties within three blocks of each other.
The first occurred at a home in the 1800 block of Upland Street where the detachment's street crew section seized quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin along with drug trafficking paraphernalia. Two men, ages 24 and 43 years old were arrested at the scene.
The second occurred at home in the 2100 block where a quantity of heroin along with ammunition and various firearm parts were seized. Two 29-year-old men, an 18-year-old boy and a 31-year-old woman were arrested.
A six have since been released pending further investigation and possible charges.
Roughly six drug-related search warrants have been executed in the immediate area since the start of the year, Prince George RCMP said in a press release Friday.
"In each case the landlords were either absent, inattentive or delinquent in monitoring and maintaining their property," RCMP added.
"In the absence of more diligent oversight of these properties, often tenants and their criminal lifestyles flourish.
"This leaves little regard for the safety of the community including legitimate renters and homeowners that take care of and take pride in their homes."
Anyone with information on illegal drug activity is urged to call the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
