A routine pullover of a speeding driver last Friday night near Taylor, south of Fort St. John, yielded a seizure of drugs and cash from a 19-year-old man.
An older model SUV was travelling at 138 km/h in a posted 100 km/h zone when it was pulled over by an officer on duty, RCMP said.
The driver showed signs of impairment and an odour of liquor was detected
Police then found more than 60 grams of suspected cocaine and several hundred dollars in cash. The man was subsequently arrested for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
After being served tickets for the driving violations, the man was later released and could face charges of impaired driving and drug trafficking, RCMP said.
