A Prince George man faces charges after police seized drugs and weapons from a 2100-block Victoria Street home on Friday.

Mitchell Allen Crosby, 27, has been charged with two counts each of possession of a prohibited substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon.

Police seized an ounce of cocaine, half-ounce of methamphetamine, $5,000 of cash, brass knuckles, nunchucks, and one set of body armour, the B.C. Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit said Wednesday.

The arrest comes out of an investigation launched April 27 by the CFSEU's North District detachment, in collaboration with the Prince George RCMP's street crew unit and North District RCMP's federal and serious organized crime unit.

Crosby is known to police and the courts. He's to go to trial in June on drugs and firearms charges related to an April 2016 arrest in Prince George.

He also has a criminal record for offences committed in the Okanagan.

They include a three-year 2 1/2-month sentence, issued in September 2012, for aggravated assault and eight months for theft from mail, issued in January 2010.

In February 2009, he was sentenced to three months in jail for uttering threats, theft $5,000 and under and taking a vehicle without the owner's consent and to two months in jail and issued a 10-year firearms prohibition for knowingly possessing an unauthorized weapon.

Two charges of failure to comply with a court-imposed condition and three counts of breaching a court-imposed condition to not possess a weapon have also been approved against Crosby from the most-recent arrest.

He remains in custody while a female who was also arrested was released on a promise to appear.
