Police on Vancouver Island want to identify four males they believe are involved in a series of kidnapping and violent assaults throughout B.C.

RCMP Sgt. Shinder Kirk, media liaison, said one of their victims is a 33-year-old man who, on Jan. 13, 2009, was kidnapped, tortured and mutilated in Fort St. John during a vicious incident.

Vancouver Island Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit investigators are seeking the public's assistance in identifying these men who appear to enter premises through front windows.

"Police have reason to believe that the incidents are related to gang activity and the drug

trade on Vancouver Island and across B.C.," Kirk.
