A late-August drug bust has yielded a second jail term.

Harjinder John Singh Berar, 43, was sentenced to 56 days in jail in Prince George provincial court on Thursday for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking in connection with an Aug. 27 raid on a "problem drug house" in the 1100 block of Chilako Avenue.

Jason Gordon Mease, 32, was sentenced on Oct. 15 to 131 days in jail for possession of a controlled substance - one from the Aug. 27 raid and the other from a separate incident.

Berar and Mease were among six people arrested but the only two to be charged.

Berar has previously been convicted of unlawful confinement for which he received an 18-month jail term offset by one year credit for time served prior to sentencing for a March 2008 incident. Odessa Nicki Marchand, 24, was also given 18 months offset by one year for the same incident.

Mease's record includes to 90 days and one year probation on March 30 for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and in late February 2009, he was sentenced to nine months in jail and two years probation for uttering threats and assault with a weapon.

His record also includes convictions for firearms-related offences and resisting arrest and, in 2003, he was sentenced to four months in jail and one year probation for theft over $5,000.
