Local RCMP and their Integrated Security Service Unit are asking the public to slow down when traveling to all 2015 Canada Winter Games venues.
Police have increased their efforts to ensure all athetes, coaches, officials and spectators arrive to their destinations safely by enforcing provincial traffic laws within the City of Prince George.
There are temporary speed reduction zones on Highway 16 imposed by the Ministry of Transportation for the turn offs to Tabor Mountain and Purden Mountain ski resorts.
Many tickets have already been issued since the start of the Games, including one for excessive speed which resulted in the vehicle being impounded for seven days.
Please help keep everyone safe while enjoying the Canada Winter Games by slowing down.
