One person was killed Tuesday morning in a head-on collision on Highway 5, North District RCMP said.
Called to the scene six kilometres south of Tete Jaune Cache just after 6:30 a.m., police found a sedan and a pickup truck in a ditch.
Initial investigation indicates the driver of the pickup truck was attempting to pass a northbound semi-truck and collided with the sedan.
The driver of the sedan died while the driver and passenger in the pickup truck sustained non-life threatening injuries.
The highway remained closed as of late morning as investigators gather evidence but there was a diversion in place on Blackman Road to allow through traffic.
