On Oct. 4 at 7:50 a.m., the RCMP received a report of a collision between a car and a logging truck at the intersection of Highway 97 and Shady Lane in Prince George.

Prince George Fire / Rescue and Prince George RCMP's Municipal Traffic Section attended the scene. On arrival they found a 1997 Cadillac Seville with severe damage and an unloaded Kenworth tractor trailer logging truck with minor damage.

Remarkably, no one was injured. Investigators believe that the 18 year old male driver of the Cadillac pulled out of the east side of Shady Lane onto Highway 97, just as the north bound logging truck was passing by. The trailer went completely over the front end of the car, dragging the car off the road. Evidence indicates that the Cadillac's windshield was not defrosted.

The RCMP would like to remind the public to ensure that their windshields are fully defrosted before travelling on any road. Failing to do so could be devastating.
