Traffic through the city's downtown is back to normal after a six-block area was cordoned off this morning in response to the threat of a bomb in the TD Canada Trust building at Victoria and Fourth.

The area was reopened to traffic just before 1 p.m. after an RCMP tracking dog and handler had completed a search of the building.

Several buildings had been evacuated and commuters found themselves on a winding route to get into work after emergency personnel responded to the threat, received by phone call at about 8:30 a.m.
