A new Downtown Prince George executive board is in place.
Returning as president is Eoin Foley (Nancy O's and Bertulla Burning), vice president is Kirk Gable (downtown property owner), treasurer is Derek Dougherty (Canadian Western Bank) and secretary is Janelle Smith (Jon M Duncan Law Corporation).
They were installed at the organization's May 10 annual general meeting.
According to a DPG press release, 21 new businesses opened in the area during 2016.
As well, it said a total of $100,000 worth of facade improvement grants were handed out to 17 projects ranging from paint and signage to streetscape transformations.
And with the introduction of the Downtown Winter Carnival, along with Downtown Summerfest, the
organization now hosts two major events to attract shoppers to downtown streets.
"I am proud to continue on as board president at a time when our downtown is experiencing a
renewed vibrancy and excitement," said Foley. "I am pleased to continue the great work of our association with a passionate and committed board."
