Downtown Prince George beauty bar exceeds fundraising goal for community kitchen

The money is going directly to Guru Nanak’s Free Food Langar

Another local business has successfully stepped up to help raise money for a good cause.

Girlfriend’s Facial and Brow Bar has raised $1,773, as well as food items and clothing, for Guru Nanak’s Free Food Langar, which is a community kitchen providing meals and essentials for residents in the VLA.

Aneet Brar, who owns Girlfriends, donated all the money raised from services yesterday (Dec. 8), including facial threading (ancient art of hair removal), facials, eyebrow tints and eyelash tints, to Guru Nanak's Free Food Langar (2225 Victoria St.).

Brar and her family moved to Prince George a few years ago, and have been so grateful for the warm reception from the community that they wanted to give back to the city’s most vulnerable community members.

Girlfriends also accepted donations of canned goods, warm clothes, socks, winter gear and non-perishable food items.

The brow bar was also able to beat their record from last year when it raised $1,300 in support of the Salvation Army Food Bank.
