The Prince George Council of Seniors is accepting donations of gift cards or cash so Christmas hampers can be offered to those seniors in need.

Last year, 180 hampers were donated to seniors in the Prince George community and the Council of Seniors knows the demand will be just as great this year and hopes the donations will be enough to meet the challenge.

Donations can be dropped off at the Prince George Council of Seniors office located at 1330 Fifth Ave., or etransfer a donation to ed@pgcos.ca.

Deadline to donate is Dec. 8. as the amount of donations will determine how many hampers can be offered to those in need.

For those in need, hamper applications will be accepted starting tomorrow (Nov. 2), through Nov. 30. Pick up and deliver the application between Nov. 2 and 30 at the Seniors Resource Centre. For more information call Lindsay at 250-564-5888 or email info@pgcos.ca.

Volunteers are needed for hamper assembly on Dec. 18 and 19 and for hamper delivery on Dec. 20 and 21. For more information about volunteering contact Wendy at hcn@pgcos.ca or call 250-564-5888.
