On Tuesday at 8:13 a.m., the Prince George RCMP received a complaint of a single vehicle collision on Connaught Drive near the foot of Connaught Hill.
RCMP as well as Prince George Fire Rescue and the BC Ambulance Service attended.
Investigators believe that an improperly secured pet distracted the 24 year old female driver, causing the collision with a light pole, which led to the vehicle rolling onto it's roof.
The driver's three-year-old child was properly secured in the vehicle. Both the driver and the child were transported to the University Hospital of Northern BC for treatment of minor injuries.
Both the vehicle and the light pole suffered significant damage. The dog fled the scene and has not been located.
