The Downtown Prince George Business Improvement Association has announced the election of its executive officers for the coming year.

The new chairman is Hugh Nicholson, the publisher of The Prince George Citizen. The vice-chair is Gordon Langer, a local Realtor and developer with Commonwealth Realty, and the treasurer is Dan McLaren, president of Commonwealth Financial and Commonwealth Healthcare.

"As a former director, I am tremendously excited by the outstanding group of people who have offered to serve on the BIA board," said Nicholson. "The board represents a good cross section of retailers, service and landlords, and I think that we have the right people at the table."

Added Nicholson: "We are starting to see some exciting improvements in the downtown, and with a new board and a new sense of direction, I think our members and the residents of Prince George will be very pleased with what we hope to accomplish for the downtown in the coming months and years."
