Ryan Cyr doesn't look like Santa but he and his family are bringing Christmas cheer to downtown Prince George Friday when the White Goose Bistro opens its doors from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to feed the hungry, the lonely and those poor students that just need a place to hang out and get a traditional holiday meal.

"It's just been such a great year, we thought we would give back to the community," said Cyr.

When the family posted the good news on social media they got the attention of more than 32,000 people, which garnered so many offers of help and donations they are set up really well to receive the masses.

White Goose Bistro isn't the only business offering Christmas spirit.

The Twisted Cork, established in 2007, has opened its doors each year to provide a traditional turkey-and-all-the-trimmings midday Christmas meal and expect up to 200 people between noon and 3 p.m.

St. Vincent de Paul Society,

open 365 days a year, will also provide Christmas lunch, while Lakewood Alliance Church will provide a Community Christmas Pancake Breakfast from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Everyone is welcome to enjoy a free meal at these establishments.
