Cyclists will be able to ride city buses for free next week, while all customers will ride for free on June 2, according to information released by BC Transit.
BC Transit and the City of Prince George is offering the free rides for cyclists for Bike to Work Week, which runs from May 31 to June 6. Everyone rides for free on Clean Air Day, which lands on Wednesday.
In order to ride for free during Bike to Work Week, cyclists will have use the bike racks located on the front of city buses, or show their bike helmet when boarding. City buses are equipped with bike racks to make it easy to combine both forms of transportation.
However, bike racks on some routes cannot be used after dark, because they obstruct the headlights.
