A team of cyclists on a 70-day trip from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska will stop in Prince George Thursday and Friday.
The 2016 Texas 4000 includes 67 undergraduate and graduate students from the University of Texas who are part in the longest annual charity bicycle ride in the world to help raise more than $485,000 for cancer research, treatment and prevention.
After 18 months of training, riders will arrive in Prince George on day 55 and will celebrate, share hope and knowledge with friends and family before completing the journey.
During the trip riders will visit cancer survivors, patients, caregivers and share educational presentations about cancer prevention and early detection in some of the communities they pedal through.
