The B.C. Green Party has announced the candidates for both the Prince George-Valemont and Prince George-Mackenzie electoral districts.

Nan Kendy is representing the Greens in Prince George-Valemount.

Kendy has a teaching background and worked as a sessional instructor in the School of Education at UNBC before retiring in 2012. For Kendy, the core principles of the B.C. Green Party include ecological wisdom, respect for diversity, social justice, participatory democracy, sustainability and non-violence.

These are reflected in the hearts and minds of many people in the north according to Nan.

Hillary Crowley has lived in the area of Prince George-Mackenzie for more than 50 years.

Crowley is concerned about the reduced sightings of moose and with large corporations swaying government decision making to the detriment of local citizens.

According to Crowley, democracy is becoming ever more fragile as money is increasingly able to sway government to over-rule local interests.

General voting day is set for May 9.
