Prince George RCMP Cst. Dong Kwak and the detachment's A Watch were named the 2017 officer and general duty watch of the year by Prince George Crime Stoppers Society on Tuesday.
Kwak has been in Prince George since February 2014 after completing RCMP basic training in Regina.
He was described as "a very motivated and hard-working officer."
"He is continually looking to develop his investigative skills and seeks out Crime Stopper tips to assist with this," Crime Stoppers added in a statement.
It was the first time in the six years of the awards that A Watch has won the honour.
"They were selected for their dedication to the program and highest volume of investigated Crime Stopper files," Crime Stoppers said.
In 2017, the program received 565 tips and they led to 24 arrests, $103,000 worth of property recovered and $153,700 worth of drugs seized.
