Creativity encouraged in happy helmet contest

The Northern Brain Injury Association is encouraging people to wear a helmet for a day this week - and show off their creativity in the process. Decorate a helmet and put it on your head, then take a photo and send it to happyhelmet@nbia.

The Northern Brain Injury Association is encouraging people to wear a helmet for a day this week - and show off their creativity in the process.

Decorate a helmet and put it on your head, then take a photo and send it to [email protected] with your name, age, contact information, community, and a photo of the required release form signed. (The form can be found through nbia.ca/happy-helmet-contest-2018.

Each of the top three youth entries will win a new helmet plus $125, $100 and $75 in cash. The winning adult will receive $100 worth of Tim Hortons gift cards.

Take the picture in the wide format (landscape), and use the highest quality possible. The deadline for entries is Friday at midnight.

Entrants are also invited to wear their creations to work or school for a day in the name of promoting brain injury prevention. According to thinkfirst.ca, 95 per cent of all brain injuries are preventable.
