Crash on Highway 16 East

A collision overnight Sunday between a transport truck carrying eight vehicles and a snow truck reduced Highway 16 East to one lane for the time it took the clear the wreckage. The collision occurred at about 4 a.m.

A collision overnight Sunday between a transport truck carrying eight vehicles and a snow truck reduced Highway 16 East to one lane for the time it took the clear the wreckage.

The collision occurred at about 4 a.m. when the westbound snow plow and the eastbound vehicle carrier collided near the Moose Lake turnout just east Mount Robson.

Valemount RCMP, who say the roads were bare with snow-covered shoulders, are investigating any contributing factors to the accident which caused four occupants in the two vehicles to be treated for minor injuries.

Considerations, with respect to charges, will be made, once the investigation has been completed.
