Prince George residents who need a COVID-19 test will be able to get one locally as early as Jan. 20, after Northern Health increased capacity at the Prince George COVID testing centre in Parkwood Mall.
On Monday afternoon, the testing centre had reached full capacity, and residents attempting to book an appointment using Northern Health’s online booking website received the message, “No appointments currently available. You cannot book an appointment at this time. Please continue to isolate and check back later.”
Additional staff and testing spaces have been allocated to do COVID-19 testing in Prince George to meet the increased demand, a spokesperson for Northern Health said on Tuesday.
