Northern Health declared a COVID-19 outbreak of the Laurier Manor assisted living facility in Prince George on Friday.
As of Friday, there have been two lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 among residents of the facility.
Northern Health is asking residents of the facility to take extra precautions, including reducing visitors and social interactions. The individuals who have tested positive, and their close contacts, have been instructed to self-isolate in their units.
The facility’s common rooms have been closed, and increased cleaning is being performed through the facility, a statement issued by Northern Health said. Social visits have been temporarily suspended, but essential visits can continue.
All residents and staff are being monitored for symptoms of COVID-19.
