Police spent around 2 1/2 hours scouring the Prince George courthouse after a bomb threat cleared the building on Tuesday.The threat forced police to evacuate the courts around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. The all-clear was given before noon.RCMP cordoned off a block from George Street, Queensway, Second and Third Avenue as a crew swept the building for explosives.Onlookers at the scene expected the courthouse to be closed for at least two hours.Two cases featured prominently on the docket Tuesday at the courthouse.Lawrence T. Gross faced a suite of charges after being arrested Jan. 4 following a home invasion on Quince Street. One of his co-accused, Nathan Alcide Marshall, 27, was shot and killed on Hemlock Street in February.Jamie H. Hammerstrom also faced an array of charges in relation to an extortion case.For more, see The Citizen.
