A man and woman have been sentenced on drugs and weapons charges related to a police raid on a home nearly three years ago.
Wilfred Lawrence Maitland, 36, was sentenced to one year in jail and ordered to pay $6,000 in victim surcharges for possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a firearm contrary to an order and careless use or storage of a firearm.
Filara Marie Murdock, 25, was sentenced to three years probation with a suspended sentenced and ordered to pay a $200 victim surcharge for possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The two were among seven people arrested Nov. 17, 2012 when Prince George RCMP executed a search warrant on a 4000-block 22nd Avenue home.
Two sawed-off 12-gauge shotguns, one long-barrel 12-gauge shotgun, shotgun ammunition, two ounces of cocaine, a quantity of marijuana and $3,000 cash were seized, RCMP said at the time.
Also, Ministry of Children and Family Development officials were called in after two toddlers were also found found at the home.
Maitland was also sentenced to 60 days in jail and one year probation and ordered to pay a $100 victim surcharge for assault with a weapon from a Nov. 29, 2013 incident in Kitimaat Village.
