The BC Coroners Service has confirmed that one person has been found deceased in the debris of the Babine Forest Products sawmill, levelled by an explosion and fire on Friday evening.

"The identity of this individual has not yet been confirmed," the service said in a statement released just before 12:30 p.m. "Because of the devastating nature of the fire and explosion, further testing will be required to confirm identification."

The body was found near the periphery of the scene in Burns Lake, 226 km west of Prince George.

Carl Charlie and Robert Luggi Jr. remain missing.

Meanwhile, one worker, in stable condition after suffering injuries, was transferred to Vancouver General Hospital from University Hospital of Northern B.C. (UHNBC) at 10 a.m. morning, Northern Health said.

Three others, all in stable condition, remain at UHNBC.
